New FLIP SlideHD Camera from Cisco

Posted by Joel
After tons of photos leaked on the net of the rumored FLIP SlideHD camera it's finally official. It looks a pretty cool gadget. It has a touchscreen and a widescreen. News features include image stabilization and a 1080p sensor with better low-light performance. With a price of $279, it has some mixed reviews. The Slide is basically a really chunky Mino HD when in camera mode -- you get the same buttons and the same interface, just implemented via touchscreen.

After reading some reviews, I was actually expecting a lot more. The Kodak Zi8 on the other hand has the external microphone jack, which I can find very useful. The Nikon S8000 offers 720p recording at up to ISO 3200, a 10x optical zoom lens, and a three-inch, 921,000-dot LCD that will absolutely crush the screen on the Slide.

For right now, I will wait and see what the competition has to offer... Hopefully Kodak will release its next generation of portable video cameras soon.

Check out a more detailed reviews on engadget.

Dodge Announced Dodge Viper Final Edition

Posted by Joel
It's been 7 years since the Dodge Viper received a total body redesign. Dodge has announced that it's winding down its latest generation with the Viper Final Edition. Only 50 units of the Final Edition model will be available. The Final Edition units will be spread among all models, Coupe (20), Roadster (18) and ACR (12) trim levels. All Final Edition Viper models will feature a Graphite Clear Coat body with a black center stripe outlined in red. Coupe and ACR models will feature a black windshield surround.

The Final Edition models will feature a black interior with red accents. Each vehicle will also include a numbered dash plaque and Final Edition floor mats are also part of the package.

On November 4, 2009, Dodge Car Brand President and CEO, Ralph Gilles, announced that the Viper would end production in the summer of 2010. A new car will arrive in 2012 to replace the current Viper, but it is unknown whether the new car will have the Viper name.

Creative Inspiration on the Track

Posted by Joel
Frank stumbled across this awesome Demo Reel by Joshua Herron on vimeo. His work is impressive from start to finish. The video showcases a blend of motorsports and urban videography. The shots he uses within the video are incredible especially the drifting footage. His editing and colors are simply flawless. Overall, this is a great video for our "creative inspiration".
