KWIKFILMS Coverage of the 3rd Annual Ceaser Chavez Day March

Posted by Frank
The San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council held the 3rd Annual Cesar Chavez Day March on March 31, 2010 at Spanish Landing Park, in San Diego CA. Marchers weaved their way through the San Diego airport, the County Administration Building, corporate buildings and banks downtown, ending the 4 mile walk with a rally at City Hall. The theme "Good Jobs, Local Jobs" reflected Cesar Chavez's message of fairness and equality. The march was very uplifting, hopeful and historical. Si se puede!

Sigma Introduces New Lenses at PMA 2010

Posted by Joel
Third party camera lens company Sigma announced 5 new camera lenses at PMA 2010 including a prime 85mm f1.4. The prices and release dates aren't available at the moment. Here's a brief list of the new camera lenses:

85mm f1.4 EX DG HSM: Medium telephoto lens for full-frame cameras. On a crop sensor, it will look like a 127.5mm lens. It has a round, 9-blade diaphragm to ensure you get plenty of appealing blur in the background of portraits. It also has a rear focus system and the Super Multi-Layer Coating to help cut down on just about every type of distortion.

17-50mm f2.8 DC OS HSM: A standard zoom lens for crop sensor cameras with Optical Stabilizer function. Their Optical Stablizer (OS) claims up to four extra stops of stability

8-16mm f4.5-5.6 DC HSM: This is the lens I'm quite excited about. It's a super wide lens for crop sensor cameras. This lens gives photographers the equivalent of a 12-24mm lens. Distortion is corrected by a hybrid aspherical lens and two glass mold elements.

70-200mm f2.8 EX DG OS HSM: Telephoto zoom with Optical Stabilizer, made for full-frame cameras, compatible with Sony and Pentax with image sensor shift anti-shake system. Inside are two FLD elements and three SLD elements to cut down on color aberration.

50-500mm f4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM: Not as wide of an aperture, but it’s got a huge range. Inside are four Special Low Dispersion glass elements (rather than the FLD)and a Super Multi-Layer coating is applied to reduce ghosting.
