KWIKFILMS Coverage of the 3rd Annual Ceaser Chavez Day March

Posted by Frank
The San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council held the 3rd Annual Cesar Chavez Day March on March 31, 2010 at Spanish Landing Park, in San Diego CA. Marchers weaved their way through the San Diego airport, the County Administration Building, corporate buildings and banks downtown, ending the 4 mile walk with a rally at City Hall. The theme "Good Jobs, Local Jobs" reflected Cesar Chavez's message of fairness and equality. The march was very uplifting, hopeful and historical. Si se puede!

A few weeks ago we shot a red 1999 Ferrari 360 Modena for a client. The finish product is truly a work of art. Frank Castillo of KWIKFILMS has crafted a remarkable video piece. His editing creativity paired with his videography skills made the Ferrari video one of the best KWIKFILMS has produced so far.

Check out the video and you'll see what I'm talking about!

Sticky Pod Pro Racer Kit Product Review

Posted by Frank
KWIKFILMS is always looking for that next stand out product, and when we got our hands on the Sticky Pod Pro Racer Kit we knew our videos wouldn't be the same. The Sticky Pod was developed to be mounted on virtually any vehicle, inside and out, with 4 heavy duty suction cups, attached to an military grade aluminum plate with a countless number of extensions and knuckles that can be added. Our kit included the Sticky Pod and a six inch extension, safety tethers, and a quick release Bogen camera plate.

Using the Sticky Pod was straightforward and easy. Positioning the camera on our test vehicle opened new camera angles and positions. The suction cups held up very well on the Lamborghini Gallardo test car. With over 500 horsepower and all-wheel drive, this monstrous bull ripped from a standstill to over 60 mph in just a few seconds. After seeing all the equipment still in place, I was impressed.

The Bogen camera plate was great, providing more stability for our Panasonic HMC-40. They provide tethers are a must for safety and added stability for your shots. KWIKFILMS recommends buying an extra knuckle, and more extensions to really explore more creative shots.

Ferrari Goes GREEN with the Ferrari 599 Hybrid Concept

Posted by Joel

Ferrari is going green literally, with the Ferrari 599 Hybrid at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show. Ferrari announced the first hybrid model, on Tuesday. Ferrari chairman, Luca di Montezemolo stated,

“This is the first step of a long project and we want within three years, maximum four, to have a hybrid Ferrari car ready for every single product of our range. This is our goal, ”

Up front is the standard layout of the 6.0 liter V12 engine producing 611bhp. In the middle are a pair of lithium ion batteries packs. Ferrari then decided to lower center of gravity since the battery packs are very heavy. Attached to the rear of the 599’s seven-speed F1 transmission, power from the electric motor is applied seamlessly via either of the gearbox’s two clutches. The electric motor is good for another 100 horsepower over the V12’s standard output. This model makes use of a unique hybrid system, which Ferrari is calling HY-KERS, referring to the hybrid use of a traditional combustion engine and a KERS device, which stands for Kinetic Energy Recuperation System.

Montezemolo mentioned they would like to cut emissions by a minimum of 35 percent.
