Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera Debuts at 2010 Geneva Motor Show

In 2007, Lamborghini produced the Superleggera. Now in 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show, Lamborghini has announced its successor, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera. This updated version is faster and lighter. This stunning lime green Lamborghini weighs 2954 lbs and is the fastest Gallardo road car yet, sprinting to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds on its way to a 202mph (325km/h) top speed.

The 5.2L direct-injected V10 sees power climb from 560 to 570 at 8,000 rpm. The LP570-4 also receives a new launch-control mode. Hold the brake and floor the gas, and the engine spins up to 5,000 rpm. Release the brake and the clutch engages, briefly spinning all four tires and rocketing the latest Gallardo from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds. The peak output comes at 8000 rpm, while max torque of 398 pound-feet (540 Nm) arrives at 6500 rpm. The new Superleggera also runs the six-speed, robotized e-gear transmission as standard.

According to Lamborghini it has saved 88 lbs by using carbon instead of plastics or metals. The automaker also saved another 28.6 lbs by using forged aluminium, 19-inch alloy wheels and took the theme to extremes with titanium wheel nuts.

The Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera is one beast of a car. I'm looking forward to seeing in action in the near future.
