Mazda Will Cease Production of RX-8 After 2011

Posted by Joel
Looks like Mazda's rotary-powered will be coming back after 2011. Mazda sold only 128 RX-8s in April of 2010 for a total of 428 year to date. The Wankel-engined sports car was recently refreshed in 2009 and currently meets all U.S. emissions standards. This 1.6 liter underpowered sports car is not going to be missed. It didn't live up to the expectations left by the RX-7. It's been rumored that the RX-7 is in production. It will be rotary powered and should arrive sometime in calendar year 2013.
